Lafayette CA was invaded by Kappa car club...
Locals at the weekend social meeting place in front of Peets Coffee Shop could not believe what they were seeing, thirteen Sky's and two sols. Curiosity was all that was on their faces. I could hear them say what kind of car is that who makes them..... We all had our hand full of questions and young kids wanting to sit in them. Dad could we get one??? Others would make their choices on which one they like the best...We could have made the day just showing off the cars... As we left the parking lot I could see all the eyes that wanted to be with us...
We could not have asked for a better day 80 degrees, clear sky just beautiful.. A great lunch in Montclair three campuses some windy roads and big Redwood trees... To wind up a perfect run back to Lafayette for ice cream.
More Runs to come in 2009 Keep tuned....

Well when I
think recon I think maybe 2 or 3 cars to go and drive a route to figure out if
it would make for a good run, figure where to make photo stops, pit stops, good
restaurants and such. Well this was not the case on this recon. We said recon
and what we got was a full blown run! These kappa people are incredible. We
put the post up 8 days prior to the recon and we ended up with 8 cars. We had 7 regulars and 1 new car along for the ride.
We started
out in
Petaluma and headed west to Tomales Bay from there we headed to Point
Reyes
Station and lunch for 15 at the Station House Cafe. After a great lunch
we then
headed south to the Golden Gate Bridge led by BigDog AKA Pete and
Niles, we
roamed through San Francisco and Pacifica and on to Half Moon Bay. We
had
dinner at the Half Moon Bay Brewery and watched the sunset after
dinner.
All in all it was a fantastic day; the people were awesome, great food,
great
views, great weather and some really hot cars. Thanks to all who made
it for the drive, GoThunda-Ed & Barb, RoadRunner-Gary & Karen,
KJSky-Ken & Judy, BigDog-Pete & Niles, LeChief-Dave &
Phyillis, EbonySky-Bill & Patricia, FlyingZ-Maria & Mama and
our newest was George in the only Sol on the drive.
